Instructions for proper packaging disposal

From glass to cap, everything can be recycled

Most likely in your area you can deliver waste by sorting it to maximize its chance of being recycled.
It is therefore important, from the moment the bottle is opened, to follow certain rules for proper recycling of the different components. Separate collection is important for many reasons, here are the main ones:

  • To respect the environment in which we live
  • To encourage the saving of raw materials and energy sources
  • To safeguard the sanitary conditions of the community
  • To limit the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere

Below we want to give you some suggestions and indicate the recycling codes for each component. Your city may have special regulations on the disposal of different components. The following tips are only a guide that will need to be adapted to your local situation.

  • Cardboard box should be recycled along with paper waste in the paper bin.
  • Glass should be disposed of in the appropriate container provided by the waste collection operator.
Although in many municipalities, recycled glass is not sorted by color, glass has different destinations depending on its color, so we want to give you some hints in case, in your area, a more rigorous sorting is done. Here are the codes you can find on the bins where glass is sorted by color:
  • White Glass
  • Green Glass
  • Brown Glass
  • Cork is returnable either in the COLLECTIONS DEDICATED to cork stoppers, or to the ECOCENTER (your town’s collection center) in the WOOD dumpster. Or it can be placed in the HUMID/ORGANIC collection but ONLY if explicitly provided for in the municipality’s collection system.
  • The following components should usually be disposed of together with plastic waste:
  • Aluminum foil capsule
  • Aluminum screw cap
  • Metal wire stopper

Caring for environment

Towards sustainability

We live our lives among these vineyards, and we are the first to enjoy their fruit: a product that is healthy and in harmony with its environment is our overarching desire and goal.
Here are some of the things that we do to reduce our environmental footprint:

happy sheep

We do not use herbicides in the vineyard and to control weeds we work the soil, mow the grass and get help from our happy sheep

biodiversity

We preserve large areas of woodland on the property to encourage biodiversity

energy from vine prunings

We recover the vine prunings and utilise them for producing energy

recycled glass

We utilize recycled glass for our bottles and recycled packaging materials obtained from certified renewable sources

green roofs

We are gradually replacing conventional roofs with green roofs to slow the off-flow of rain

no oil

We try as much as possible to use heat pumps and electricity from renewable resources for heating spaces

solar panels

The electrical energy we use comes almost entirely from our solar panels

We reduce to a minimum the products we utilise in the vineyard, restricting ourselves to those approved in the Viticultural Protocol of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, a document created by a panel of experts, whose goal is to promote and protect the growing area and the beauty of its landscape.

The path to sustainability is our path, we follow it every day and every day and every gesture is one more step towards a better relationship with nature.
